Billy first burst into stand up in November 2004 and has quickly established himself as one of Scottish comedy's most up and coming young acts. Billy has already become a big hit with comedy fans. This has lead to a consistent growth in his small, but ever expanding, cult following, thanks to his Unique yet slightly surreal style of storytelling, likeable on-stage presence and energetic on stage performances, and is widely regarded as one of Scotland's most up and coming acts.

Billy has a huge bag of comedy tricks at his disposal as he is a born improviser having appeared in a selection of improv based shows across the country as he enjoys interacting with his audiences and has seen him come into a into demand as a compere and he can be seen performing gigs as both MC and support having established himself as a favourite on several nights and events across Scotland including the Stand Comedy Clubs in Glasgow and Edinburgh, as Resident MC of his own Sidesplitters Comedy Club every month in Irvine and many many more across the UK as well as being in demand for private functions and events.

At this years Glasgow Comedy festival Billy was one of the most visible performers started off as compere for the now legendary Ashton Lane Pub Crawl and ending with his own much anticipated sell out debut show 'Billy Kirkwood is Childish' which was huge success and garnered much critical acclaim (plans are already underway for a 2008 follow up) and is set make it's Edinburgh Fringe debut summer as 'Billy Kirkwood is Childish: The Edinburgh Adventure', before continuing to gig as much as possible from then on in.
Billy has recently made a return acting for the first time in almost two years with a featured part in the feature 'ROCKETDOGS' and forthcoming
short film ' For fate' both due to be released later in 2007.
