Comedians | Matt Price

Matt Price spent 18 months being heckled onto the stage at the Award winning Yellow Kangaroo in Cardiff where he was resident compere and really knows how to engage an audience and make them laugh. Described as, “A great story teller.” (Leicester Mercury, February 2006) Matt is also the support act for Noel James on his “Ballad of a Blue Man” tour.

Matt is taking a full length show, “The Nimble Mammoth” to the Edinburgh Festival 2006, and is now resident compere at the Cardiff Wharf, the longest running comedy Club in Wales. He was a finalist in the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year competition in 2004 and has since developed the art of making even the rowdiest audiences pay attention.

Matt's real skill is to take his audience on many different journeys during his set. Often you won't see the end until the very last minute. Poignant, brutally funny and sometimes heartbreaking stories from real life are turned into well crafted comedy fables. He has a style that he can call his own and one that is still very much developing.

“Vulnerable, self-deprecating and honest-sounding material, mixed with a big on-stage presence.” (Daniel Parton, Kumquat Comedy Club.)

“Has the rare talent of being able to entertain just through being himself.” (Gloucester Guildhall Comedy Club)

“Wasted no time in making his return to his home county something of a triumph.” (Duck Egg, Penzance)

“Very Funny.” (Gagging For it, Torquay)

“We've booked Matt three times this year since January and every time he's given us performances that have been outstanding for someone who is still relatively under-exposed. This is one of the few comedians you can confidently predict will make the step up to headliner in the next couple of years.” (Hullaballoo Comedy Club, 2005)
