Comedians | Matt and Faron
Having previously been involved in writing and performing sketches together, the boys were offered an open spot, Farron didn’t have the bottle so it was left to Matthew to perform the material that they had worked on together. In the first year Matthew managed to reach the final of the Newcastle comedy competition new act final on his own whilst Faron watched from the shadows and cried.
Matthew was continually impressing with his affable and physical comedy style, reaching the semi-finals of two major national competitions. Free hotels and mass appreciation was the order of the day and life was good.
Unable to contain his bitterness, Faron decided to crash the party. Scared for his family’s safety Matthew had no option but to let him join him on stage.
Over the next two years Matt and Faron continued to enhance their growing reputation performing around the country in venues such as The Stand, The Pleasance and The Guilded Balloon (Edinburgh). The Buzz (Manchester) The Heyena (Newcastle) Head of Steam (Liverpool) Mirth Control, Amused Moose etc as well as regular compere work for Laughing Gas in their various venues.
Matthew claims that he is where it’s at and Faron is clinging on to his coat tails attempting to steal the spotlight at any opportunity, but he’s too scared to say anything in case Faron bites him.
