Comedians | Tony Wilkes
Tony Wilkes has been doing standup regularly since October 2004, gigging throughout Scotland and building up to a successful run in a trio show at 2005’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His first gig was in San Francisco in 2000, at an open mic night, but no-one could understand a word because he spoke so fast.
What’s his material like? Well sometimes he’s a Frenchman, the ladies like that one. The bit where he talked to his own imagination in the Fringe show, people thought that was good. There’s the penguin song, and the joke about ‘You should see his little face light up’, that always goes down well. And one time he trashed a toy drumkit to hilarious effect but that was just a fluke. So he might end up doing something new.
