Reviews | Just Laugh Comedy Club Perth
Date: Friday 5th November 2004
Compere: Bruce Fummey
Comedians: Gary Little, Quentin Reynolds, Patrick Rolink and Gordon Brunton
The fireworks were going off inside as well as outside at the third Just Laugh comedy night at Bliss & Envy Nightclub in Perth. As usual, Bruce Fummey, the compere for the evening, opened the show to thunderous applause and soon whipped the sold out crowd into a frenzy before introducing the first act for the evening Garry Little, who got the crowd in the mood with quips about Glaswegians, ET and how no one really needs Buy One Get One Free goods.
Next on stage was Airdrie’s own Quentin Reynolds, who while getting off to a slow start, soon found his legs and had the crowd howling with laughter about Neds, Sinn Fein and Glasgow gangsters called Quentin.
After Quentin was another Airdrie man, Patrick Rolink, who had the crowd doubled up with stories about living in Airdrie, Prince Harry and being a “bigger” man. Patrick stole the show with a comment about the young prince and the rumours about James Hewitt.
Oh, and a note to any noisy plumbers thinking about going to the December show: don’t. The only flaw with the evening was the plumbers who insisted on talking throughout the performances, despite being told to be quiet (albeit not as nice as that!). Remember folks, it’s a comedy evening, you’re there to watch the comedians!
