Comedians | Steve Day

Steve Day is a truly unique comedian - warm, witty and engaging whilst dealing with the dilemmas of being a deaf man in a hearing world.
His stories of multiple children, wearing a suit and the problems caused by not knowing how words are pronounced will have audiences in raptures, and his uplifting tales of overcoming the obstacles in his path will leave crowds feeling inspired.

Steve is a favourite at many venues around the UK and abroad and is quickly establishing himself as one of the most popular and respected acts on the circuit.

Steve made his Edinburgh Festival debut in 2002 with his solo show 'Deaf In The Afternoon'. Having garnered acclaim from both critics and audiences alike, Steve is preparing to take his second full-length show 'A Night At The Pictures' to Edinburgh in 2005.
He also went on his first national tour (with an updated version of 'Deaf In The Evening') n early 2005, with a 19-date schedule which took in venues from Stirling to Brighton - and received a huge amount of press and media attention along the way. The second leg of 'DITE' is to tour in autumn 2005, and this will be followed by a new tour and a new show in early 2006.

Steve is now establishing himself as a regular voice on BBC Radio 4, contributing regularly to 'You and Yours' and featuring in a half-hour special of 'No Triumph No Tragedy'. He has also appeared in Channel 4's short film series 'Natural Born Talent', Radio 4's drama 'All Fingers and Thumbs' and was a staff writer for 'The News Huddlines' on BBC Radio 2. Since going out on tour, Steve has attracted a massive amount of national TV interest and is currently in the process of writing his own sitcom.

Regular work includes: Off The Kerb, Creased Up Comedy, Screaming Blue Murder, CK Productions, Kill For A Seat; Banana Cabaret, Backyard Comedy Club, Up The Creek, Red Rose, Hampstead Comedy, East Dulwich Comedy; Krater, Jesters, Rawhide, Laughterhouse, Frog & Bucket, Hyena Café, Last Laugh, The Stand, Just Laugh, Just The Tonic plus many more…
